Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Java Solutions Architect with proven experience in building and overseeing enterprise applications within the Integrated Justice or similar public sector environments. The candidate will play a key role in aligning application development with established technical standards, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability across critical justice-related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Integrated Justice Portal standards across application UI, development methodologies, coding, and style practices.
Serve as the technical liaison between application teams and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
Coordinate and support infrastructure-level testing, including performance, failover, endurance, and deployment readiness.
Design and develop enterprise-grade applications using Java/JEE, JSF, XML, XSLT, and IBM WebSphere/Portal technologies.
Oversee and provide guidance on development activities, including data modeling, analysis, access, and manipulation.
Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with technical design standards and best practices.
Create and/or review technical documentation, including architectural designs, schemas, and deployment plans.
Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing hands-on technical support and oversight.
Required Qualifications:
Strong experience in Java/JEE application development, especially in JSF, XML, XSLT, and IBM WebSphere Portal technologies.
Demonstrated experience working within or for Integrated Justice Systems or similar government environments.
Solid understanding of infrastructure and performance-related planning and testing (failover, endurance, etc.).
Proven ability to bridge technical and infrastructure teams for performance troubleshooting and implementation.
Experience in data modeling, data access layers, and logical database design.
Prior leadership in code reviews and guiding development teams.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work on state or federal government portals, particularly within criminal justice, law enforcement, or public safety systems.
Experience in Agile or Hybrid SDLC environments.
Familiarity with IBM software stack for enterprise applications.
