Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their team in a critical role supporting network infrastructure and security. This is a 100% on-site position in downtown Phoenix, AZ requiring local candidates who can attend in-person interviews and start within two weeks of an offer. The position is Monday through Friday and may require more than 40 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, early mornings, and holidays. Participation in a 24/7 on-call standby rotation is required (currently tiered: 2 weeks on-call every 6 weeks).

Key Responsibilities include:
* Designing and implementing network architecture and security strategies for mission-critical systems
* Providing excellent customer service to internal staff, vendors, stakeholders, and partners
* Planning and coordinating infrastructure and networking projects; Managing and reviewing implementation tasks by team members and consultants
* Overseeing installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network connectivity and performance
* Leading creation and maintenance of documentation, including network configurations, diagrams, processes, and service records
* Assisting in developing annual operating budgets and capital improvement plans for network infrastructure
* Evaluating and implementing network infrastructure plans for wide area networks, including Cisco Nexus Data Center equipment and Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls
* Managing relationships and contracts with third-party vendors involved in network systems
* Researching and recommending technologies to improve reliability and usability of critical dispatch services
* Auditing devices and configurations to ensure compliance with standards, security, and best practices
* Creating, documenting, and resolving items in the ticketing system, including incidents, service requests, change controls, and configuration management

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Extensive experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting
* Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS and Cisco Nexus devices
* Familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPNs, IPsec, and NAT
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:
* Industry certifications such as CCNP or Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall Engineer
* Five years of experience in planning, design, and maintenance of large networks
* Five years of experience with Cisco IOS and Nexus devices
* Supervisory experience managing small teams of full-time and contract employees

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
