AS400 RPG Programmer/Support Engineer
Job Details
Vaco Technology (an IT Talent Solutions Firm) is currently looking for an AS400 RPG Programmer/Support Engineer for an Indefinite consulting opportunity. This is primarily a production support position where tickets could come from any functional area within the company. The ideal candidate would quickly learn enough about their applications and processes to be able to start working those tickets.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years AS400 programming/support experience on enterprise level applications
- Expertise with RPG/ILE, service programs, commitment control, journaling, interactive & batch debugging
- Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
- Self-starter that will take ownership of assignments and drive to completion with minimal supervision
- Prior experience leading development teams is a plus
- Experience using change management software such as Turnover or Aldon
- Ability to develop functional requirements and technical design documents
- Ability to relate well with business users
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA
- Experience with OS400 upgrades
- Good oral and written communication
- Java experience would be a plus
- Insurance Industry would be a strong plus
