Position Summary and Job Responsibilities

Position Summary

BGI is seeking a full-time Weapons School (WS) contractor Instructor/Subject Matter Expert (I/SME) to facilitate graduate-level instruction that provides the world's most advanced training in weapons and tactics employment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Instructs and measures training process of students who train in the established aircrew training curriculum.
  • Conducts briefings and debriefings, provides counsel with students to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency.
  • Performs administrative duties relative to training; such as recordkeeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of training programs.
  • Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, capability and expertise.
  • Develops, analyzes and reviews all assigned courseware and related materials IAW the current Air Force model of ISD as defined in AFH 36-2235 Vol. 1.
  • Analyzes test items and cumulative data for trends, and performs basic trend analysis.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all applicable regulations, instructions, procedures, Technical Orders, and other publications as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Reviews and/or revises courseware materials on both a scheduled and out-of-cycle basis IAW the PWS.
  • Develops, coordinates, and produces a specialty specific courseware development schedule which identifies projected milestones and time phasing of courseware delivery throughout the year; updates this scheduled as required.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of the USAFWS
  • Fighter/Bomber background
  • Previous instructor/evaluator experience in primary training system or mission area (Air Superiority; Global Precision Attack; ISR; EW; Cyberspace; C2; Personnel Recovery; or Space)
  • Tactics and employment proficiency
  • Current Top Secret security clearance

Preferred

  • Previous I/SME experience in primary USAF fighter aircraft (F-15C, F-15E, F-16, F-22 or F-35)
  • More than 1,500 flying hours or 10 years' experience in mission area
  • More than 500 instructor flying hours or three years' experience as an instructor
  • Previous experience as a Weapons School or an academic (FTU) platform instructor
  • Qualified instructor/evaluator within the preceding 4 years or or as a contract instructor within 2 years
  • Graduate of the Air Force Advance Instrument School (AFAIS) or equivalent
  • Graduate of formal Instructional Systems Development (ISD) course or equivalent
  • Mission Planning and debrief experience with JMPS and NGTS
