Senior Systems Cloud Administrator
Duration: 1+ Year
Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite, Locals Only)
Onsite requirement: Minimum 3 days per week (subject to change based on business needs)
Potential to convert to FTE

Overview

The Senior Systems Cloud Administrator will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and managing the daily operation of the Corporate IT Server and Application Services (SAS) environment. This hands-on role involves implementing efficient solutions, maintaining system availability, enforcing security protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in enterprise IT Systems or Cloud Administration

  • 4+ years of PowerShell or Bash scripting for automation

  • Experience with Ansible for deployments

  • Firewall configuration and management

  • Expert-level Microsoft Azure administration

  • Senior-level Windows administration (AD, DNS, Group Policy)

  • Linux administration (SUSE, RedHat, CentOS)

  • Ability to obtain security clearance

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field

  • Industry certifications (MCSE, MCITP, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)

  • Experience with SIEM tools, backups, and monitoring

  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 rev 4 security guidelines

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and document SAS infrastructure processes (monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, change management, etc.)

  • Maintain server/application diagrams and workflows

  • Perform incident diagnosis, corrective action, and root cause analysis

  • Manage vulnerability remediation and monthly system patching

  • Configure, test, install, and maintain server components and applications

  • Lead infrastructure design and systems analysis activities

  • Serve as SME and collaborate with Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Systems Administration teams
