About the Role
Looking for a highly skilled Data Architect with deep healthcare domain expertise to join our team in a full-time capacity. As a strategic member of our data team, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing cutting-edge, AI-ready data architectures that power healthcare solutions across clinical, operational, and financial landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Architecture Strategy: Design scalable and secure architectures aligned with healthcare standards like HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, and CMS regulations.
- AI-Enabled Platforms: Modernize data platforms to support AI/ML, LLM-based apps, vector databases, and diverse data types (structured to unstructured).
- Data Integration & Interoperability: Lead integration across EHRs, claims systems, lab data, IoT devices, and more.
- Cloud Solutions: Architect real-time, cloud-native data solutions using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure full alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, and enterprise data governance policies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinicians, engineers, data scientists, and business leaders to translate requirements into actionable architecture.
- Metadata & Data Lineage: Establish a strong framework for metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tracking.
- Optimization: Drive continuous performance and cost optimizations in the data ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field.
- 10+ years in data architecture/data engineering, with 3+ years in a healthcare-focused role.
- Experience working with unstructured clinical data (e.g., EMRs, medical documents).
- Deep understanding of healthcare standards: HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform), including tools like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, Palantir.
- Strong command of ETL frameworks (Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory) and data modeling tools (ER/Studio, Erwin).
- In-depth knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare privacy & security compliance.
