Our government client is looking for an experienced Technical Writer on a remote 12+ months renewable contract role in Raleigh, NC.
Position: Technical Writer
Job Description
·Develop and maintain documentation, for federal and state programs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with regulations
·Collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain and gather documentation
·Work closely with project teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy
·Create user-friendly documents and tailor content to the target audience
·Ability to exercise communication skills in both written and verbal means to take complex concepts and convert into easily understood written documentation
·Coordinate document reviews and track progress
·Translate complex information into clear, concise, and understandable language
·Ensure documents are free of errors and meet quality standards
·Review RFPs, RFIs, Contracts, User Guides, Training Materials, APDs and Technical Requirements
·Organize material and complete writing assignments according to agency standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Required/Desired Skills and Experience:
- 7 years of Strong writing and editing skills and proficiency in technical writing Required
- 7 years of Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills Required
- 7 years of Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Power Point, Excel) SharePoint Required
- 7 years of Ability to write clearly and concisely with excellent grammar, good writing skills and communication Required
- 3 years of State government/public sector experience with health and human services programs Required
- 5 years of Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities, change, stress and to find appropriate balance between the needs of the organization, others Required
- 5 years of Ability to effectively proofread documents prepared by self and others for content and others to ensure content and formatting accuracy Required
- 7 years of Demonstrated Technical Writing Experience Required
