- Define best practices for analyzing online user behavior, configuring analytics tools, and interpreting data.
- Determine objectives, methods, and tools for iterative testing and site optimization.
- Write technical and functional requirements for analytics implementation on public-facing digital properties.
- Develop custom JavaScript or JSON code as needed for tagging and data collection.
- Lead regular tagging audits to ensure accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices.
- Provide technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to project managers and development leads.
- Communicate risks, challenges, and recommendations clearly and in a timely manner.
- Run scheduled web analytics reports with meaningful analysis and actionable insights to improve user experience.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation including data dictionaries, analytics requirements, and implementation guides.
Mandatory Skills / Experience
- 8+ years of experience in web reporting and analytics with a strong technical foundation.
- Hands-on expertise with Google Analytics (GA360, GA4) and web tag managers (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium).
- 4-5+ years managing enterprise-class web analytics platforms (Google Analytics 360, GA4, WebTrends).
- Experience with analytics platform migrations.
- Proficiency in building custom reports, advanced segments, and complex goals, with strong skills in interpreting and presenting insights.
- Intermediate Excel skills and ability to integrate disparate datasets into clear, actionable reports.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- 8+ years of experience in digital software development.
- Passion for optimizing user experiences through data-driven insights.
- Experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies.
- Normal Business Hours, Monday through Friday (not including a mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work), 35 work hours per week. If the consultant works more than 35 hours per week, the consultant must request overtime in the Agency's timekeeping system and the project manager must approve those hours worked above the weekly maximum.
