Contract Application Support Analyst (Entry-Level)
Austin, TX Hybrid Role
12 month contract with extension possible
Monday-Friday- On-site Tuesday-Wednesday Only
8 am to 5 pm Overtime limited and typically not available

The Application Support Analyst provides entry-level support for software applications, focusing on configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, and updates. This role also includes technical assistance, user training, and documentation. The analyst will work under close supervision and guidance, developing competence through structured assignments.

The Application Support Analyst provides entry-level support for software applications, focusing on configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, and updates. This role also includes technical assistance, user training, and documentation. The analyst will work under close supervision and guidance, developing competence through structured assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer software applications, including configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, updates, documentation, and data archiving.
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to test, review, and document installation, operation, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist in designing and implementing backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and monitoring plans.
- Provide technical assistance, customer service, and problem resolution for supported applications.
- Develop and run queries and generate reports for users.
- Manage user access, including adding/removing users and configuring single sign-on (SSO) integration.
- Research, test, and develop new technologies and solutions.
- Participate in software application project teams, contributing documentation and support under senior staff direction.
- Implement system enhancements and assist in evaluating application purchases and upgrades.
- May perform application server administration, including backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, tuning, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as NERC CIP, NIST, ISA, and IEEE.
- Incorporate functional, field, and operational considerations into application administration activities.
- Four or more years of experience in software application troubleshooting, configuration, administration, and support.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field may substitute for experience per LCRA guidelines.
- Knowledge of supported applications and related IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency in customer service and technical support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Capable of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in training and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Intermediate proficiency in supported applications.
- Team-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Primarily office-based; some roles may involve work in control room or plant floor environments.
- May require work during weekends, holidays, and nonstandard hours for application support and deployments.
- Frequent use of keyboard and mouse.
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds) for roles at FPP facilities.
