Worldwide Technology is looking for a Proxy Engineer Infrastructure & Automation. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Title: Proxy Engineer Infrastructure & Automation
Location: TX or NJ (Onsite 5 Days/Week)
Duration/Type of Job: 12 months
Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $60 to $80 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and optimize proxy infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with enterprise security standards.
- Conduct proxy code certification, feature enablement, and performance tuning across multiple environments.
- Collaborate with internal and client teams to align network and proxy engineering activities with strategic goals.
- Automate operational workflows and repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, or Ansible playbooks.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex proxy incidents.
- Partner with vendors to evaluate new features, performance improvements, and optimization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, runbooks, and standardized implementation templates.
- Support security incident investigations leveraging SIEM tools and proxy logs.
- Participate in change management and design reviews, contributing to risk mitigation and process improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering organization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, network security, or proxy engineering roles.
- Hands-on expertise with installation, migration, and management of proxy technologies, including Broadcom/Symantec Blue Coat, Secure Web Gateway, Symantec Content Analysis, SSL Visibility, or similar tools.
- Experience with SaaS-based secure gateway platforms such as Zscaler or Netskope.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, load balancing, and firewalls).
- Automation and scripting proficiency using Python, Shell, or Ansible for environment automation and process improvement.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD concepts.
- Experience leveraging SIEM tools for investigative and diagnostic purposes.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments.
