Position: IT Business Management Specialist/Project Manager
Location: Onsite - Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 11 Months plus
Required skills
A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:
- 10 or more years experience in strategic communications or project management, preferably in public-sector IT;
- Proven ability to manage communications across multiple large-scale initiatives;
- Strong background in change management, crisis communication, and executive reporting;
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CJIS, HIPAA, NIST); and
- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Preferred skills
- Experience with business process mapping and facilitating sessions with leadership and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); and
- Understanding of web applications supporting business functions.
Scope:
- Develop and implement communication strategies for OIT initiatives, ensuring alignment with agency goals.
- Coordinate messaging across major projects (e.g., OBIS Modernization, Cloud Modernization, etc.) from planning through implementation;
- Serve as the main liaison for all OIT communications with external partners, agencies, and stakeholders and the Department s Office of Communications;
- Create and manage internal communication tools (e.g., newsletters, dashboards) for project updates;
- Assist with IT crisis communication and risk messaging efforts for disruptions or compliance issues;
- Support change management by crafting and/or reviewing internal or vendor-developed communication plans that promote staff engagement;
- Ensure all communications meet federal and state compliance standards (e.g., Criminal Justice Information Services [CJIS], Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA], National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST]); and
- Track and adjust communication effectiveness using feedback, surveys, and performance data.

Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
