Robert Half Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Systems & Network Migration Specialist to support an upcoming office/server room relocation project. This role will focus on auditing, documenting, and preparing network and server infrastructure for a smooth transition.
Duration: Short-term contract
Location: Bellevue, Washington (100% onsite)
Pay rate: up to $50/hourly

Robert Half Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Systems & Network Migration Specialist to support an upcoming office/server room relocation project. This role will focus on auditing, documenting, and preparing network and server infrastructure for a smooth transition.
Duration: Short-term contract
Location: Bellevue, Washington (100% onsite)
Pay rate: up to $50/hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day tasks involving servers, racks, switches, firewalls, UPS, and circuits.
- Trace and label cabling, confirm ISP demarcation points, and validate circuit details.
- Compare existing documentation to current infrastructure, identifying discrepancies and safely flagging equipment for decommission.
- Produce a comprehensive migration plan to the Tukwila site, including step-by-step sequencing, downtime expectations, and rollback procedures.
- Develop and deliver a handoff-ready documentation package (network diagrams, IP/VLAN/DNS/DHCP details, dependency mapping) for execution by Help Desk/MSP teams.
- Coordinate with remote Help Desk/MSP resources to ensure smooth execution of the relocation plan.
Requirements
- Hands-on systems and networking experience in server rooms (racks, patch panels, UPS).
- Strong telco circuit knowledge (Lumen/Qwest): locating demarcation points, identifying CPE, and mapping circuit IDs.
- Ability to trace and label cables, and distinguish active versus decommissioned gear without impacting uptime.
- Skilled in reading and improving network diagrams, validating IP/VLAN/DNS/DHCP configurations, and documenting dependencies.
- Experience with SD-WAN/edge gear and site relocation projects.
- Excellent documentation skills and ability to produce clear, handoff-ready materials.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience with office/server relocation projects.
- Familiarity with WatchGuard firewalls, Cisco/Meraki SD-WAN, Dell servers, and SANs.
- Basic knowledge of storage/RAID configurations to support proper shutdown/startup sequencing.
- Experience standardizing and labeling racks and patch fields.
