About the Role
As a Senior Web Engineer, you'll be part of an agile, empowered team focused on delivering high-performance web applications. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of our digital platforms by designing, building, and maintaining scalable, accessible, and user-friendly web solutions. Responsibilities
- Apply and uphold best practices in web engineering across the full development lifecycle.
- Build responsive, accessible, and performant web applications optimized for various devices.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to iterate on user-centric solutions.
- Develop and maintain features used by both external users and internal teams.
- Integrate with APIs and backend services to deliver seamless experiences.
- Review and enhance existing codebases, plan upgrades, and contribute to scalable architecture.
- Define and monitor performance metrics, proactively improve application speed and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and bring innovative ideas to the team.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in Web UI development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with React and Redux (recent usage required).
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES2015+), HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Git, npm, and collaborative development workflows.
- Solid understanding of:
- Software design principles and patterns
- Browser internals (HTTP, APIs, event loop, rendering)
- Build tools (Webpack, Rollup)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Automated testing frameworks
- Performance tuning tools (Lighthouse, DevTools)
- Accessibility standards (WAI-ARIA, WCAG)
- Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with functional programming in JavaScript
- Familiarity with WebAssembly (Wasm)
- Server-side development (Node.js or similar)
- Tools: Jest, Mocha, Babel, Yarn, Webdriver IO, GitLab
- Exposure to other frameworks (Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.)
- Knowledge of Web Components, TypeScript/Flowtype
- Experience with NGINX, Bash scripting
- Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Foundry)
- Containerization tools (Docker)
