Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing therapy plans developed by occupational therapists

• Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities

• Support patients with daily living tasks like dressing, grooming, and cooking

• Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment

• Report observations to the supervising occupational therapist

• Modify tasks or environments to suit patient needs

• Demonstrate and assist with the use of adaptive equipment

• Encourage and motivate patients during therapy sessions

• Educate patients and caregivers on at-home exercises and care strategies

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation

• Ensure safety during all therapy-related activities

• Set up and clean therapy equipment and workspaces

• Collaborate with the therapy team to adjust treatment approaches as needed

• Promote independence and self-confidence in patients
