Job Details

Job Title: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst
Place of Performance: 4201 Crums Mill Road, Suite #100 A, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
Project duration: 2 years

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of experience performing similar duties.
  • Proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization, spatial analysis, and GIS database management
  • Familiarity/experience working with workforce development boards and/or WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) performance metrics is a plus.

Scope Of Work:

  • SCPa Works is seeking the services of a qualified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to support ongoing mapping and analysis support in a workforce development context.
  • The successful candidate or firm will provide technical GIS expertise, spatial data analysis, and map production to support current and upcoming projects.
  • Specifically, projects will contribute to SCPa Works' ongoing Community Access Point Strategy, a place-based approach to effective service delivery in the eight-county South Central region.
The GIS Analyst will be expected to:
  • Develop, manage, and maintain geospatial databases.
  • Analyze spatial data and generate reports, maps, and visualizations.
  • Perform geoprocessing and spatial analysis tasks using software such as ArcGIS Pro. SCPa Works will provide software licenses.
  • Integrate data from various sources for mapping purposes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, documentation, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Document and compile data sources used for projects.
  • Provide detailed narrative/interpretation of final maps and reports for the general public, SCPa Works staff, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Utilize external data sources such as the US Census, Light cast, and CWDS (Commonwealth Workforce Development System) for mapping purposes.

Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field
