Title: Data Engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite) - Local resources
Duration: 6+ Months (possibility of extension)
Interviews: In person interview
Prescreen: The manager has created custom questions; these must be answered- 5 questions
Note to Vendors:
We re seeking a self-motivated, initiative-driven Data Engineer to lead the development of a new, enterprise-level data program. This individual will be instrumental in building and scaling a data cataloging solution using Databricks Unity Catalog, taking a solution that started as a proof-of-concept and expanding it into a full-scale enterprise platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and implement the Unity Catalog component within the Databricks platform to enable enterprise-wide data cataloging.
- Work closely with stakeholders to conceptualize and launch new data solutions from the ground up.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to document data pipelines, structures, and workflows using Confluence.
- Utilize Microsoft tools, including Power BI and Forms, to support business intelligence and data visualization needs.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and SOPs to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Contribute to strategic planning and provide thought leadership for enterprise data architecture.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, including knowledge of Unity Catalog or similar data governance/cataloging tools.
- Strong background in Power BI and Microsoft s data stack (e.g., Forms, Excel, etc.).
- Proven ability to take an initiative from concept to full enterprise implementation.
- Excellent skills in documentation and collaboration using Confluence.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a go-getter mindset; comfortable working independently.
- Experience working in agile and/or start-up-like environments is a plus.
