The Jr Telecom Network Engineer role will provide management and review of telecom invoice approvals which total over 900+ invoices and remittance requests monthly. In addition, this role plays a significant part of the audit/billing overwatch process providing detail oversight and includes Telecom Access functions such as analysis, ordering of all network circuits i.e. branch, Service center and Data Centers. This role has essential responsibilities, which also include of provisioning of telecommunication circuits, ordering and other network-related tasks which is distributed among the Telecom Access team staff.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist if needed in provisioning of circuits for data and voice. Includes quoting, ordering, tracking, scheduling, and activations.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and business partners to deliver on network infrastructure work
  • Responsible to drive Network Service projects, cost analysis and budget compliance for OPEX circuit provisioning
  • Maintain compliance with audit responsibilities
  • Attention to detail in continued audit/validation of circuit invoices, dispute discrepancies with vendors, track disputes and ensure credits received, and approve invoices monthly by end of month account date
  • Vendor management - including negotiating, performance, escalations, contractual
  • Leverage knowledge of the telecom industry to identify additional cost saving opportunities
  • Audit and reconcile billing disputes, including oversight of receiving credits from vendors
  • Review and handle telecom ageing, apply credits, missing invoice payments
  • Normalize carrier billing and usage information obtained from various electronic formats and load data into the Rivermine database
  • Perform quality checks to ensure accurate accounting of all usage and expense categories, including management of expenses to correct cost centers

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or 1 -2 years of experience in the telecommunications field working with circuits, VoIP, invoicing, and carrier vendors
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders seamlessly and successfully team cross-organizationally on infrastructure deliverables
  • Strong understanding of database management
  • Experience with Remedy and Tableau software is a plus
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating Telecom contracts is a plus
  • Team player with strong customer service qualities and a positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, analyze problems, and prioritize tasks
  • Initiates and supports change to improve internal processes and operations
  • Able to self-manage work and complete assigned tasks within deadlines
