Job Details
Please Note:
- This is 100% On-Site position.
- Contract Duration: 4 Years
- Place of performance: 1331 F Street NW, Suite 1000, Washington, DC 20004
- Work hours: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Eastern) Monday through Friday excluding Federal holidays.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and ongoing management of cloud-based infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Track deployment, monitor performance, and address any issues related to cloud devices (virtual machines, storage, networking components) to ensure they operate optimally.
- Manage cloud service configurations and ensure compliance with security standards for access control, encryption, and firewall configurations.
- Continuously monitor cloud service performance and recommend configuration changes to improve scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure cloud security settings align with enterprise security guidelines including data protection, vulnerability management, and access controls.
- Regularly update cloud services, applying security patches and performing security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and address them.
- Oversee cloud-based backup systems, ensuring that critical data is securely backed up and that disaster recovery procedures are tested and executed effectively.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans in collaboration with other team members to ensure that data can be restored quickly during emergencies.
- Design cloud environments based on different cloud deployment models such as public, private, community, and hybrid clouds, ensuring flexibility and scalability in IT infrastructure.
- Provide solutions using cloud service delivery models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to meet business needs while optimizing costs and resource utilization.
- Ensure all cloud systems are designed for future capacity requirements and growth, ensuring minimal disruption as business demands increase.
- Maintain standard configurations for all cloud services, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Oversee the integration of cloud services with on-premises systems, working with the Network Engineer and Systems Administrator to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor cloud service metrics and respond to any incidents or service disruptions, ensuring that performance remains optimal.
- Stay updated on new cloud technologies and virtualization innovations, assessing their potential to improve cloud-based services.
- Lead the adoption of automation, containerization, and scaling technologies to ensure that cloud operations are as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
- Evaluate emerging trends in cloud infrastructure management and virtual compute/storage networks, recommending improvements based on industry standards.
- Collaborate with Network Engineers and Systems Administrators to ensure cloud infrastructure is integrated with local network and server systems.
- Manage configuration changes in cloud services via the established Change Configuration Board (CCB) process, ensuring all changes are documented and authorized.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with mid-level and senior level as a Cloud Architect.
