Ardent is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst Facilities to join our team.

This is a on-site position located at the United States Coast Guard, Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center, in Norfolk, VA.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a GIS Analyst to support our Federal Partners geospatial program. This role is critical in supporting the Coast Guard (CG) in the development and sustainment of GIS layers, collaboration for publicizing GIS data, linking GIS attributes with enterprise document storage locations, and facilitating data exchange between AutoCAD and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, edit, and update GIS data layers, web maps, and other GIS products using ESRI's ArcGIS suite and Survey123 Connect.
  • Accurately input data and make necessary changes to records within the GIS system, emphasizing asset or facilities management.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including letters, memorandums, visual presentations, spreadsheets, and emails for internal CG use and coordination with different government agencies.
  • Manage the entry of AutoCAD-based Plot Plans of Record drawings into GIS and sustain the exporting of these from GIS to AutoCAD.
  • Sustain data connections between the Coast Guard Technical Information Management System (CG-TIMS) and GIS data layers.
  • Collaborate with the Mission Support Product Line to sustain various GIS data layers within the Utility Inventory, Condition Assessment, and Mapping (ICAM) Web Application for specific locations.
  • Develop and document workflows for notification and tracking of changes/updates to GIS data.
  • Sustain existing GIS data connections within ArcGIS.
  • Support the enrollment of all real property assets into GIS.
  • Produce GIS-related products such as maps, charts, graphs, GIS analysis, and projects based on specifications from the SILC GIS Program Manager or Contracting Officers Representative.
  • Serve as a GIS subject matter expert, providing guidance and training to CG and subordinate unit staff members.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Cartography, Geography, or Information Systems, with a strong emphasis on asset or facilities management.
  • Five (5) years of experience in developing, editing and updating GIS data layers, web maps and other GIS products using ESRI's ArcGIS suite of GIS applications as well as Survey123 Connect. Accurately inputting data and making changes to records stored within the system is crucial. This experience shall be related to asset or facilities management.
  • Experience in GIS development, editing, and data management, specifically using ESRI's ArcGIS suite and Survey123 Connect.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for the creation of internal and external communications.
