Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: Remote (DMV Candidates Only)
Type: Contract
Role Purpose
The Data Analyst will be responsible for exploring, analyzing, and integrating large datasets to deliver actionable insights that support business decisions. This role requires deep SQL expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to connect data from multiple systems. The analyst will also contribute to designing future-state integration models and modernizing the data platform from on-prem to AWS cloud.
Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced data exploration and analysis using SQL and multiple database structures.

Collect, interpret, and analyze complex data to provide business insights and recommendations.

Research and document data flows across Ab Initio, MicroStrategy, Cloudera, and future-state AWS Redshift/PostgresSQL platforms.

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

Design, validate, and deliver integrated datasets that support decision-making and business strategies.

Support healthcare claims and enrollment data analysis to drive compliance and operational efficiency.

Mentor team members and act as a subject matter expert for data-related issues and solutions.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation in alignment with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications

5-7 years of strong SQL expertise (writing and optimizing complex queries) - MUST HAVE.

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills - MUST HAVE.

Experience in healthcare data analysis (claims and enrollment) - MUST HAVE.

Ability to connect and integrate data across multiple resources - MUST HAVE.

Hands-on experience with ETL/Ab Initio, MicroStrategy, and Cloudera.

Strong understanding of data modeling and integration patterns.

Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS-native data platforms (Redshift, S3, Glue, etc.).

Familiarity with PostgresSQL in enterprise environments.

Background in software development or engineering (highly desirable).

Strong communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working in fast-paced, Agile environments with shifting priorities.
