Director of IT

This hands-on leadership role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and effective communication to drive organization-wide impact.

The company is located in Washington D.C. and will be a hybrid model of 3 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Direct all facets of IT operations, including infrastructure, servers, cloud platforms, databases, telephony, and software systems.
  • Lead and develop a team of internal IT professionals and oversee work from external consultants and vendors.
  • Drive strategic IT initiatives, including system migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and support needs across all departments.
  • Maintain robust security protocols, including access control, data backup, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Contribute to budgeting and vendor management activities (experience owning budgets is a plus).
  • Oversee internal technology-related training, documentation, and change communication.
  • Serve as the key IT liaison for senior leadership and external-facing technical initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership roles.
  • Proven track record managing IT teams and delivering complex technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, databases, email systems, and hardware.
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and modern IT best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, project management, and organizational abilities.
  • Energetic, self-driven, and collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset.
