Job Details

Our client, a worldwide media & entertainment brand is searching for a Product Owner, Governance and Compliance to add to their team! We are seeking a Product Manager to develop roadmap, and drive execution for our Data Governance domain, focusing on Privacy, Consent Management, and Global Data Compliance. This role sits at the intersection of data platform engineering, legal/privacy compliance, and user trust, and plays a vital part in building scalable, secure, and compliant data capabilities. This position is focused on driving governance solutions, ensuring compliance, and delivering value to customers. This role requires a blend of deep product sense, technical expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration. You'll drive the development of products and platform services that enable our enterprise to meet evolving privacy regulations (like GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA) while also delivering seamless experiences for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain roadmap for Data Governance with an emphasis on privacy, consent, and regulatory compliance.

  • Translate complex global regulatory requirements into scalable, user-friendly platform capabilities (e.g., consent capture, data subject request workflows, privacy preference centers).

Platform Enablement & Integration

  • Build robust platform services and third-party product integration capabilities that support global privacy operations at scale across data collection, ingestion, classification, usage, and retention workflows.

  • Partner with engineering to drive automation and workflow optimization around DSARs, retention policies, and data lineage.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Security, Engineering, Technical Support and others to align data governance, privacy and compliance features with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Product Execution & Launch

  • Work with cross-functional teams of engineering and product to take an idea through development, launch and adoption.

  • Ensure solutions meet both internal operational needs and external customer-facing requirements, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Metrics & Impact

  • Define and track metrics to measure the success and impact of privacy and governance products (e.g., consent opt-in rates, DSAR resolution time, audit readiness).

Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders, translate them into Product Requirement Document (PRD) with business justification.

  • Author detailed product briefs, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, success metrics and product overview.

  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, legal, privacy, and others to develop, test, and deliver high quality products.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science or a related field with at least 8 years of relevant experience in an enterprise software development environment, with a minimum 5 years as a product manager.

  • Expertise with Privacy Rights Management, Data Management, Big Data & Analytics, Data Warehouse, Data Quality, Data Governance or related field.

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing conversations to drive positive outcomes for the product and the business

  • Communicates difficult concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view.

  • Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to balance various priorities.

  • Strong bias for action, tenacity, and "get it done" attitude
