We are Lockheed Martin
You will be a ASIC & FPGA Embedded Software Engineer on the Microelectronics Development & Design team.
Our team makes extraordinary impact in the lives of many by developing state-of-the-art embedded systems, SoC, as well as, FPGA solutions targeting F-35, F-16, and our Skunk Works IRADs.
Your experience in C/C++ software for embedded systems and FPGA cores will benefit you as you assist in maintaining and developing custom software applications for embedded Linux and bare-metal implementations. With your background in test software and python development, you may be sought after for ingenious solutions to complex problems while also guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
Beyond that, we also find ourselves doing the following:
Utilizing System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL
Involved in all phases of software development
Participating in Advanced Development Program research and development
Developing software requirements and design documents, project plans, and testing Embedded Systems Architecture
Determining embedded software design & logic of system simulation and testbenches of FPGA and ASIC designs
Supporting internal and external technical reviews Involved in all phases of software development
Collaborating with the design team to resolve any defects identified
What You Will Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
Develops, designs, verifies, and documents Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) and Field
Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) development.
Developing software requirements and design documents, project plans, and testing Embedded Systems Architecture
Assignments include the analysis of all aspects from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power utilization.
Typically uses specialized equipment to establish operation data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access. **

Basic Qualifications
Engineering or bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems, such as FPGA and System on Chips (SoCs)
Minimum 3 years experience developing in C/C++
Experience developing Linux device drivers
Secret Security Clearance
Desired skills
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus ship is required for this position.
Experience with agile development, configuration management and continuous integration processes and methodologies.
Experience preparing system architectures and appropriate UML diagrams.
Experience with Arm and PowerPC BSP creation.
Strong mentoring skills and experience leading groups.
Strong technical communication skills (experience communicating technical designs to non-technical customers and communicating customer desires to technical team).
Experience with industry standard agile development tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
Understanding of networking and PCIe standards.
Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
Ability to adapt well to change, as the working environment has evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
Board bring-up and electronics debug/design
