Position: Tube Filling Line Technician (Norden Line - Line 6)
Location: Fullerton, CA (Onsite)

Summary
We are seeking a Tube Filling Line Technician to operate, set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on our Norden tube filling and sealing machine (Line 6). This is a highly technical role requiring precision, reliability, and strong mechanical aptitude. The right candidate will take ownership of this line, mastering its operation and ensuring consistent product quality, machine efficiency, and compliance with GMP and safety standards.
Why This Role Matters
This is a critical position that demands both technical skill and the right mindset. Changeovers on this machine are complex and can take up to half a day or longer. We need someone who is dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn - someone who wants to build a long-term career and take pride in running this line effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set up tube filling and sealing equipment (Norden or similar).
- Perform mechanical adjustments and changeovers for different tube sizes, fill volumes, and sealing types.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common issues such as leaking seals, misaligned registration, and inconsistent fills.
- Conduct in-process quality checks (weight control, seal integrity, code legibility).
- Maintain compliance with GMP, ISO, and safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, cleaning, filter replacement).
- Collaborate with mechanics, electricians, and quality teams to minimize downtime.
- Tube Filling Equipment: 2-5 years operating or maintaining tube-filling or similar packaging lines (e.g., Norden, IWK, Kalix, TGM, Marchesini).
- Packaging Machinery: Familiarity with automated filling, capping, sealing, or labeling lines for viscous products.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Skilled in setups, adjustments, and using hand tools and precision instruments.
- Electrical/Controls: Basic PLC/HMI knowledge (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Quality & GMP: Experience in regulated environments with documentation and line clearance procedures.
- Maintenance/Changeovers: Ability to perform efficient size-part swaps and read mechanical drawings.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certificate or associate degree in mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or automation preferred.
- Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak).
- Detail-oriented and reliable.
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and work independently.
- Flexibility for rotating shifts or extended hours.
- Experience with robotic tube loaders or automated feeders.
- Knowledge of multi-color or concentric filling systems.
- Familiarity with OEE tracking, 5S, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
