Job Details

Position: Engineering Tech III (Server Administrator)
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90012
Duration: Up to 6 months
Schedule: 44/36 alternating Monday Friday schedule (7:00 AM 4:30 PM) with every other Friday off

Position Overview:

The Engineering Tech III Server Admin will support day-to-day SCADA operations, with a strong focus on diagnosing and resolving server, desktop, and process control application issues. The role involves working within a hybrid Windows environment, handling SCADA system administration, security controls, and Windows-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain SCADA client/server infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot SCADA software, hardware, and databases (Oracle and others)
  • Collaborate with IT and SCADA network/security teams
  • Configure and manage Windows Server and Linux-based SCADA systems
  • Deploy and manage SCCM, WSUS, and other COTS tools
  • Maintain system images, manage updates, and apply OS deployment strategies
  • Support technical documentation, reports, and training materials
  • Assist with system inspections, maintenance management, contracts, and control systems evaluation
  • Emergency response and resident inspection as needed

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Certifications (one required):
    • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
    • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate)
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years in server administration
    • 4+ years working with Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 2 years of college coursework in engineering
    • 8 years of relevant experience (including 2 years at Eng. Tech III level)
  • Experience with SCCM, WSUS, OS imaging, Windows/Linux SCADA infrastructure
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Valid CA driver s license (Defensive Driver Certification if selected)

Preferred Certifications (Desirable):

  • CompTIA Network+
  • Cisco CCNP or CCNA
