SAP WM/IM Consultant Store Room Management & Distribution Center Setup

Location: Remote with Travel to St. Louis, MO

Start Date: ASAP

Go-Live Date: January 1, 2026

Duration: Through end of 2025 + 2 months of Hypercare

Project Overview:

This role supports a full SAP S/4HANA system replacement focused on improving warehouse and inventory processes using SAP WM (Store Room Management) and SAP IM. The client is preparing for a go-live on 1/1/26 and is currently transitioning from the Explore to the Realize phase of the SAP Activate methodology.

The selected consultant will lead the setup of small office inventory environments and a high-volume distribution center, supporting detailed goods movement processes and RF scanning.

Responsibilities:

Configure SAP WM Store Room Management to support setup of a distribution center including:

  • RF scanner configuration
  • Bin setup
  • Delivery flows
  • Labeling systems

Design and implement Inventory Management (IM) with:

  • Real and virtual inventory locations
  • RF scanners assigned per location
  • Consignment inventory tracking with all necessary goods movements
  • Auto-replenishment points across warehouse and storage locations

Lead Material Management (MM) configuration:

  • Material group structures aligned to market segments
  • Material master data setup
  • Ensure integration with financial transactions tied to inventory processes
  • Provide leadership to replace a current underperforming resource
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to drive workstream execution and decision making

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Deep experience in SAP WM, IM, and MM modules (S/4HANA preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of RF scanner processes including VLO6N
  • Demonstrated experience with goods movements, auto-replenishment, and consignment inventory
  • Experience setting up distribution centers with complex SKU management (e.g., small parts, optical products)
  • Knowledge of merchandising supply chains and related materials movement
  • Ability to simplify RF screens and optimize warehouse workflows
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • U.S.-based; must be able to travel as needed

Travel Requirements:

  • Initial on-site presence required within the first 30 days (St. Louis, MO)
  • Includes time spent in both the distribution center and clinic/retail locations
  • Remaining work is primarily remote
