PLEASE NOTE: This is a 4 month renewable contract and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening.
1. What s the major objective(s) of the role? Candidate will be reviewing and documenting the design of the Extream application deployed in Amazon Cloud using EKS containers. The candidate will also leverage knowledge to recommend design improvements based on his/her experience. The candidate will also assist in finishing the deployment as well as assist in the design and deployment of a multi-AZ resilient design as well as design and implement a way to test said failover event. Finally, document and advise on best operations run book to operationaly support system as implemented.

Responsibilities:
Strong and Proven skillset with Amazon EKS knowledge design/execution.
Drive forward the Cloud Infrastructure as Code roadmap.
Partner with our consumers within Sunlife to assist them get onboarded to cloud, provision environments, develop roles and build a seamless onboarding process.
Work with Cloud team to ensure proper execution, business, and strategic alignment.
Consult and advise our consumers on Cloud Services, best practices and lead them to get onboarded to Cloud Environment seamlessly.
Build automation and compliance by design using Cloud Native technologies.
Be part of an Agile development team helping the business deliver strategic initiatives
Working with new technologies and transforming legacy technology to leverage the Cloud.
Make both tactical and strategic decisions including delivering Cloud Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives.
Work with Support teams to debug and fix reported issues, and act as an escalation point for incidents
Required to move quickly but never compromise the security of our systems or the privacy of our clients.
Apply best practices, standards, and ensure compliance to all company security directives.
Participate in security engineering to ensure compliance by design.
Support Cloud Audit and Risk and compliance requirements from partnering with Security and governance teams.
What do you need to succeed?
University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience, and/or 5+ years of industry experience in the IT industry
5 years of relevant work experience in server administration and/or cloud solution administration in an enterprise environment.
Technical and business experience with AWS.
Experience in DevOps environments and the use of automation to deliver business value is useful
Experience in Software Engineering, Scripting, SDLC, or Infrastructure as Code.
Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, Ruby)
Systems provisioning and configuration management experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Cloud Native tools.
Databases and data experience such as: PostgreSQL, Redis or similar
You ve engineered solutions for enterprise initiatives on a global scale.
Preferred Skills:
Good knowledge with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, Ruby)
Strong communication skills that build customers confidence and trusted partnership.
The ability to deliver documents, artifacts, and documentation (not just consoles and keyboards).
