Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or Associate''s with experience.
Note: Internships do not count toward experience.
Required Technical Skills :
Proficiency in IEC 61131 languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text).
Experience with at least one major PLC platform
Schneider Electric (Momentum, M340, M580)
Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
Woodward (MSLC, DSLC, EasyGen, LS5)
Ability to design, test, and commission generator paralleling systems.
Experience integrating multiple PLCs from different manufacturers.
Knowledge of UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, NEC, CSA 22-2, ANSI.
Ability to interpret customer specs and apply regulatory requirements.
Preferred Skills
Experience with protective relays (generator/utility protection).
Soft Skills
Problem-solving Debugging complex control systems.
Time management Handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication Clear verbal/written skills for team/customer interactions.
Leadership Mentoring junior engineers and guiding CAD designers.
Job Responsibilities
Develop low/medium voltage switchgear for generator paralleling.
Customize PLC software/hardware templates for control systems.
Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, CSA, and ANSI standards.
Create bills of materials (BOMs) in ERP systems.
Guide CAD designers for wiring/assembly drawings.
Support production teams during manufacturing.
Write and validate PLC code for generator synchronization.
Interface with communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
Test and commission systems in-house or on-site.
Work with cross-functional teams (procurement, production).
Provide technical direction to purchasing for component sourcing.
Mentor junior engineers and review designs.
