Engineering Program Manager for Consumer Electronics (Austin, TX)
Summary:
Seeking an Engineering Program Manager to support the development and testing of embedded systems for innovative consumer devices. The ideal candidate will work with engineering teams building internal tools and applications to support system bring-up and manufacturing validation. This role requires strong program management skills, technical fluency in software and hardware systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
The successful candidate will help define project goals, establish timelines, and track software deliverables while ensuring clear communication with engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts related to system validation and test development
- Support system bring-up for new hardware platforms, sensors, and embedded technologies
- Manage triage and debug processes for hardware/software integration issues
- Collaborate with hardware, software, test, and operations teams to enable scalable test strategies
- Provide hands-on support during prototype builds and new product introductions
- May require occasional travel for on-site support of engineering builds
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of program management experience in technical or engineering environments
- 3+ years of experience with embedded hardware/software systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage priorities and drive cross-functional alignment
- Familiarity with hardware bring-up processes and tooling is beneficial
- Experience with test automation, scripting, or data analysis is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to manufacturing environments or working with contract manufacturers
- Comfort with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for data parsing or automation
- Experience with MacOS, Linux, or mobile operating systems
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (MS a plus)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid schedule: Tues Thurs onsite)
Duration: 12+ months with possible extension
Pay Rate: $70 $90/h (DOE)
