Position Responsibilities:
Develop product requirements, feature requirements, and systems and performance analysis. Conduct deep-dive customer sessions on 4G/5G Call processing related features and air interface technologies. Analyze customer requirements, convert them into system requirements and capture detail design for the development team for all Samsung product features. Lead all technical discussions on Samsung products and scheduler related features with several customer vertical organization including 4G/5G RAN Development groups and RAN performance groups. Author technical proposals, technical research and white papers, design documents, operator network design, Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP), and Patent filings. Assist in product and feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product, software releases, and third party product evaluation to build product synergies. Provide expert technical support in the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions in order to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers' network business. Educate customers on Samsung's new products and services both individually and in a team environment. Ensure to meet customer satisfaction. Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments. Lead field integration testing efforts, such as First Field Application (FFA), and Field Integration Testing (FIT), and First Solution Application (FSA), of all 4G/5G key features with customers, including test plan development, test plan review with customers, cross-functional teams execution, test results review, issue identification, analysis and quality proof until software acceptance is achieved. Manage Tier3 support, analyze and troubleshoot scheduler related issues reported from customer labs, field sites and production network. Review and provide recommendations to improve LTE RAN network performance, evaluate and trend key Performance Indicator (KPIs), perform trials and provide optimization guidelines.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication or related field and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as Engineer III, System Structure Design or related occupation in RF design and optimization projects. The 6 years of experience must have included: 1) 4G/5G call processing with expertise in RRC, S1-MME, S1-U and X2 protocols and understanding of concepts including Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, 4G/5G Numerologies; 2) 3GPP RAN product architecture, design, implementation and performance improvement (KPIs); and 3) experience with RF antenna technologies and network optimizations. Travel requirements: up to 10% domestic/international travel required.
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week.
