Job Details

Network and Monitoring Architect

LOA: 6 months (contract to hire)

Location: Bridgewater, NJ (onsite 2-3 days/week, remote hybrid)

The Network & Monitoring Architect s role is to develop and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical network and monitoring architecture. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. The Architect will gain organizational commitment for all high-level network & infrastructure monitoring plans,and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.

Consultant will be shadowing existing lead and work on injecting thoughts into the overall strategy. Review current architecture and make suggestions for improvements. There will be some project work and the ideal candidate will be a hands-on network engineer and architect to lead the team. The network consists of Cisco predominately, Palo Alto Firewalls, multiple monitoring systems that could use consolidation (future project) both on-prem and in the cloud, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform Cloud.

MUSTS:

Network engineering (minimum 10 years) designing enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, VMs, Virtual networks, hybrid networks

Network Monitoring- (5 years+)

Leading Teams (3 years)

Strong knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including Spanning Tree, DHCP Snooping, Multicast, IGMP Snooping, Vlan Access Control Lists.

Extensive knowledge of resilient IT networks and systems including common network routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Cisco Networking, and Generative AI

Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, traffic flow, and data processing concepts.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Ability to partner with the facilities team

Occasional on call (not often) and business travel for urgent needs

Excellent communication

Change Management

Plus:

Regulated environment experience

Python and Bash scripting for network automation
