Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Python to design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building production-ready data solutions and providing technical leadership, including coordination with offshore teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using BigQuery
  • Develop and maintain Python-based orchestration frameworks with logging, retries, and error handling
  • Implement scalable and secure workflows on Google Cloud Platform
  • Ensure production readiness, monitoring, performance tuning, and data quality
  • Manage source control, code reviews, and CI/CD deployments
  • Lead technical coordination with onshore stakeholders and guide offshore teams
  • Follow best practices for security, access control, and operational monitoring

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in BigQuery SQL and scripting (procedures, dynamic SQL, performance tuning)
  • Advanced Python experience for orchestration and workflow management
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including:
    • Cloud Composer / Airflow
    • Cloud Run
    • Pub/Sub
    • Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
    • IAM
    • Logging and Monitoring

Good to Have:

  • Metadata or configuration-driven design (YAML, config tables)
  • Experience with Teradata SQL and migration to BigQuery
  • Data validation, reconciliation, and data quality frameworks
