Aspire IT Solutions is in a need of -
Role: Oracle Backup Administrator
Location: Washington, D.C. (2-3 days/week onsite - Locals)
Duration: 6 months (contract)
Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced Backup Administrator to lead a backup migration project for Oracle databases (including Exadata). The consultant will design, implement, and document advanced backup solutions using Cohesity, while integrating with monitoring and ITSM platforms such as Splunk and ServiceNow.
Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cohesity backup solutions for Oracle databases.

  • Migrate and optimize Oracle backups, ensuring compliance with best practices.

  • Integrate backup monitoring with Splunk (custom dashboards, scripts, alerting).

  • Develop API-based integrations with ServiceNow CMDB for automated updates.

  • Automate backup processes with Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.

  • Configure secure offsite backup to cloud and tape storage.

  • Establish and test data center replication for redundancy and DR.

  • Implement and validate backup immutability features.

  • Produce clear documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Cohesity.

  • Strong background in Oracle database backups (Exadata experience required).

  • Proven integration experience with Splunk and ServiceNow CMDB (via API calls).

  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Shell).

  • Experience configuring cloud and tape storage backup solutions.

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup immutability.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
