Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Data Architect with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric to lead enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives onsite in Nashville, TN. This role is pivotal in designing scalable, secure, and modern data ecosystems leveraging Microsoft s next-gen Fabric platform. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data modernization, cloud-native architectures, and end-to-end data solutions across business domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI).
- Define data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and architectural best practices for scalable data platforms.
- Modernize legacy data warehouses and ETL/ELT processes to cloud-native, Fabric-based lakehouse architectures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT teams to gather requirements, define use cases, and design future-ready data solutions.
- Drive architecture for medallion lakehouse models (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) using Delta Lake and OneLake.
- Architect and support real-time, batch, and near-real-time data processing pipelines.
- Establish security, compliance, lineage, and governance standards using Microsoft Purview and Fabric-native features.
- Provide architectural leadership for Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting layer optimization.
- Evaluate and integrate DevOps and CI/CD practices for data platform lifecycle management.
- Mentor data engineers and analysts, and ensure architectural consistency across projects.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or business intelligence.
- 2+ years hands-on with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Synapse, Power BI, OneLake).
- Deep expertise in data lakehouse architecture, data mesh, and modern ELT design patterns.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure Data Factory
- OneLake / Delta Lake
- Synapse Data Engineering
- Power BI semantic models & datasets
- SQL, T-SQL, PySpark
- Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks using Microsoft Purview or Azure RBAC.
- Experience architecting solutions on Azure cloud Data Lake Gen2, Azure SQL DB, Synapse, Azure Functions.
- Proven ability to lead enterprise-scale data transformation/migration projects.
- Understanding of DevOps for data pipelines Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Experience with hybrid cloud data strategies, data cataloging, data lineage, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Exposure to AI/ML integration with Fabric Notebooks is a plus.
- Prior experience leading onsite delivery teams or client engagements.
