Role: Systems Analyst
Location: Hybrid Richmond (1 week onsite 1 week remote). Local only.
Must list highlighted skills at top of resume with number of years experience.
Duration: 12 Months
Top Required Skills:
- Prior experience with systems migration ability to assess current environments, plan migration strategy, build new reports, test and validate new reports
- Experience with Cognos 11 Reporting and Cognos Transformer Cube
- Experience with Power BI Dashboarding
- Experience with Advanced SQL writing abilities

High Level Project Overview:
- Client s IT team is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst with strong analytical skills and attention to detail to provide support converting legacy Cognos reports to Power BI.
- The ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, presentation) with internal business partners, IT personnel, and external service providers is critical to success in this role.
- The successful candidate will develop new and innovative processes to facilitate the move of clients into the exciting opportunity with wind energy.
- The successful candidate will need to be an expert in all aspects of the System Analyst role.
- The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional understanding of the SA skillset and toolset and have a solid understanding of modern computing technologies.
- The candidate will need to be able to collaborate successfully with clients to understand their business needs and can convert their requirements into system specifications.
Duties include:
- Function as a consultant to client s internal business partners regarding technology and process solutions.
- Facilitate finding, developing, and implementing viable technology solutions for client s business partners by working with teammates, IT groups within the company, external service providers, and business partners.
- Provide guidance to client s internal business partners by knowing what technologies are available to solve complex requirements.
- Effectively lead documentation of business requirements, test cases, use cases, and design thinking exercises.
- Provide written and verbal updates on projects and solutions to IT and business management.
- Develop and deliver training on new or revised system functionality to raise awareness, educate users, and support personnel.
- Interface with internal business partners, IT groups, and external service providers to implement new systems and modify existing systems.
- Facilitate and lead requirements workshops.
- Functionally deconstruct, analyze, and document client s internal business partners systems, problems, processes, and needs.
- Define business requirements and test cases using structured methodologies.
Required Years of Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5 plus years of experience working as a Senior Systems Analyst
Education:
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalency (Required)
- Are there any specific companies/industries you d like to see in the candidate s experience?
- Experience in information Technology, a business/technology consulting firm, or a utility business group.
- IT experience in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms, or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of large-scale systems.
