Job Details

Technical Business Analyst with Data governance Location : Austin Texas Client : State of Texas Position is ONSITE at the location listed above (NO REMOTE WORK). Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position (Within a 50-mile radius). Please do not submit candidates who are currently out of state and are planning to move to Texas. Candidates must already reside in Texas. Exp: Minimum 12+ Years Skills :Data analyst, Data governance, Data quality Experience working with Utility providers (Electric, Water, etc) - Highly Required Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, Databricks) - Highly Required

Important:

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX.
No out-of-state candidates or those planning to relocate will be considered.


Key Responsibilities:

Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems, focusing on process alignment with strategic organizational goals.
Develop and refine business process frameworks, leveraging industry-standard methodologies and tools for process mapping and design.
Identify opportunities to streamline operations and implement best practices for cross-functional collaboration and performance improvement.
Lead data governance initiatives by defining policies, standards, and practices to ensure data quality, stewardship, and compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define requirements for onboarding data into modern data platforms, supporting analytics and business intelligence needs.
Produce comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flows, and system functionalities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (up to 4 years substitution allowed).
Minimum 12 years of experience as a Business Analyst in technical or IT environments, working closely with developers, architects, and data teams.
Proven experience designing and developing business process frameworks, standardized models, workflows, and governance structures.
Familiarity with process mapping tools and methodologies.
Hands-on experience in business process development and reengineering with a focus on technology-driven improvements.
Experience working with Utility providers (Electric, Water, etc.) is highly required.
Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to support data-driven decision-making.
Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Databricks.
Working knowledge of data governance principles including data quality, stewardship, and compliance best practices.
