DPP is seeking a Power BI Developer for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangement:
  • Hybrid: 75% remote; onsite as needed
  • W2 position; 12 months, with possibility of extension
Position description:
  • The Power BI Developer will be responsible for expanding and enhancing data visualization capabilities and reporting to meet customer business needs and problem resolution in a team environment.
  • This position will be a part of the team responsible for supporting Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI. They will also be involved with supporting the day-to-day operations associated with Power BI.
  • Emphasis will be placed on evaluating and modernizing financial reporting capabilities using Power BI. Due to the volume of financial systems, interdependencies, and structured and unstructured data sources, additional staff are needed to support this effort.
  • The team will ensure solutions are set up following industry best practices to ensure strategic initiatives and compliance with federal and state regulatory laws and ensure business continuity.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, team-oriented, work under limited supervision, and respond to priority tasks as needed. Candidates must also be able to form productive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Emphases for the Power BI Developer will be support of the Microsoft 365 Government G3 Power platform and Power BI dashboards and reporting to support the agency and modernization of financial reporting capabilities.
  • Support and develop visual reports, scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI desktop and Power Platform.
  • Work with financial staff to understand business needs and requirements.
  • Evaluate various financial data sources and evaluate complex formulas to define and implement data strategy for data transformation.
  • Ensure security associated with data sources and Power BI products.
  • Create DAX queries and advanced-level calculations on data sets based on reporting requirements
  • Develop, modify, test, implement, and support dashboards and backend data modeling workflow within Microsoft Azure and Power platform
  • Expand capabilities through the creation of new data workflow, reports, and dashboards
  • Assist with design and implementation of data structures within the environment and associated data sources associated with financial systems.
  • Programming DAX, SQL
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Reviews and monitoring usage reports to improve reporting capabilities
  • Assist with Office 365 Government G3 environment, permissions, and security associated with Power BI products.
  • Provides support to end users
  • Requires mastery technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes.
  • Create supporting project and system documentation.
  • Work in a collaborative effort to conceptualize total systems and/or product solutions currently in place.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Power BI
  • Design of complex web intelligence reports and dashboards
  • Data modeling
  • Azure Power Platform
  • MS SQL, Data Warehousing
  • Business Analysis experience including data flow diagrams, requirements specifications, use case scenarios, and acceptance testing.
  • Microsoft Access
  • User access permissions and role-based access controls
  • Interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills, written communication skills
Preferred KSAs:
  • Experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA, and CJIS.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff, customers and others involved in data-centric management.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Field, best practices, organization and operations
  • Ability to integrate technical systems with agency goals and objectives.
  • Public sector or Government experience is preferred.
Education/equivalency:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience.
