Job Overview:
Join our committed team as an EDA Tool Optimization and Management Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in administering and refining Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool implementations. Your efforts will streamline design processes, enhance engineering productivity, and ensure our teams are equipped with the latest EDA solutions, achieving excellence both on-premise and in cloud-based settings.

EDA Tool Lifecycle Oversight:
- Execute comprehensive management of EDA toolsets encompassing deployment, setting configurations, updates, and overseeing licensing across on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Establish a secure, scalable cloud-based design framework, inclusive of workload scheduling and effective queue handling.
- Regularly assess tool functionality, pinpoint inefficiencies, and strategize solutions to boost performance.
- Safeguard tool infrastructure through reliable data preservation and backup protocols.
- Coordinate requests for EDA licenses, forecast needs, and ensure thorough installation and ongoing maintenance.
- Interface with client and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) teams for optimal compute grid, data storage, and job handling setups.
- Align EDA frameworks with diverse design methodologies such as Digital, Analog-Mixed Signal, RF, ASICs, FPGAs, etc., while providing script, data, and reporting solutions.
- Empower the engineering team by supporting RTL to GDS flows and facilitating physical design implementation.
- Impart knowledge on handling the complexities of cloud-deployed EDA tools.

EDA Workflow Enhancement:
- Work alongside client design units to create and sustain efficient EDA workflows, integrating successive design stages.
- Develop, codify, and disseminate standardized design methodologies and exemplary practices for tool utilization and deployment.
- Innovate with automation scripts to minimize redundancy and enhance design productivity.

Technical Assistance:
- Offer expert guidance to engineers pertaining to EDA tools, addressing queue handling, troubleshooting, and access issues.
- Conduct educational sessions spotlighting novel tool features and updates, improving user skill sets.

EDA Vendor Liaison:
- Assimilate and maintain EDA tools and design infrastructure.
- Administer and optimize license server usage while fostering positive relationships with EDA vendors and optimizing contractual arrangements.
- Partner with vendors to smooth the installation process and stimulate tool advancements.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Proficiencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of EDA tool suites, covering synthesis, placement, timing analysis, formal verification, and circuit simulation (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens).
- Proficiency in automation via scripting languages (TCL, Perl, Python).
- Proficiency in Linux environments.
- Proven track record in both On-Premise and Cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) EDA tool management.

Design Acumen:
- In-depth grasp of IC design principles, covering logic, physical design, and timing analysis.
- Experience with multiple design processes and varying technology nodes.

Interpersonal and Team Collaboration:
- Outstanding communication capabilities for efficient collaboration with internal and external teams.
- Proficiency in conveying complex technical ideas and providing support to non-technical personnel.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Industry experience is critically important.
