Digital Creator/Media Capture Specialist
Location:
San Francisco Bay Area
Overview:
We're looking for a versatile and creative media capture specialist who thrives in both solo and collaborative production environments. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about storytelling through video, comfortable with a wide range of capture tools, and eager to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple platforms and brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality video content using a variety of devices including wearable tech, DSLR cameras, cinema cameras, and smartphones.
- Participate in both small-scale, self-directed shoots and larger productions with full crews.
- Be comfortable both behind and occasionally in front of the camera, especially for user-generated content (UGC) style shoots where your presence (e.g., hands in frame) may be part of the story.
- Support content creation across a wide range of initiatives, including consumer-facing and business-oriented campaigns.
- Collaborate with creative leads to understand brand messaging and translate it into compelling visual content.
- Provide basic editing support using tools like Adobe Premiere or mobile editing apps.
- Quickly learn and teach others how to use new wearable capture devices, even if they have no prior experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of capture tools and techniques.
- A portfolio that includes elevated, cinematic work as well as nimble, social-first content.
- Ability to adapt to different production environments and creative briefs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret and execute brand vision.
- Based in or willing to travel frequently to the Bay Area.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with brands or in a creative agency setting.
- Comfort with fast-paced, iterative content development.
- A passion for emerging media formats and storytelling techniques.

The ideal candidate for this position can work proactively and autonomously to deliver social content with a high attention to detail and under time constraints. They are comfortable working across many projects at once, exploring what's possible, putting social-first concepts forward, and can quickly iterate based on feedback. They are able to deliver work that can convey complex technical concepts as well as simple, consumer-focused ideas.
A high level of social-first craft is required including but not limited to Ustorytelling, camera operation, lighting skills, and a knowledge of trending social templates & elements. Video editing skills are a plus. The ideal candidate is a conceptual thinker who has their finger on the pulse of social trends and culture, and are strategic and proactive problem solvers.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to turn complex subject matter into easy-to-understand and entertaining social content
- Concept, art direct, and produce quick-turn social-first ideas focusing primarily on in-product experiences, leveraging both new and existing formats in a fast paced environment
- Thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment with a flexible, ego-free approach, working autonomously or as part of a team to drive creative projects forward.
- Excellent lighting skills, especially for indoor office spaces and green screens
- Ability to shoot high-quality video content, specifically employee-generated content
- Hands-on camera operation skills with an in-depth knowledge of camera video settings for Sony FX3 and iPhone
- Experience as a Director of Photography (DP) and director, with ability to co-direct when necessary
- Understanding of current social media video trends and ability to execute them in a corporate setting
- Strong creative vision and direction skills to guide employee-generated content shoots

The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $100.00/hr.
