Job Description:

Lead Platform Engineer - Commercial Security Solutions

This unique opportunity allows for a direct impact on conserving vital resources and protecting the people we serve. The Industrial sector has been a leader in utilizing IIoT solutions to deliver exceptional value and services to our customers.

The Lead Platform Engineer will be a leader in global deployments of IIoT technologies and solutions within many industrial water services and offerings. This will include complex cloud architectures, general data communications, cellular gateways, LAN communications, wireless solutions, data historians, and equipment integrations to our customer's industrial controls environment (i.e., via 3D TRASAR Controller platforms and IIoT devices). They will be a technical resource for ensuring all Industrial platforms and solutions are deployed on customer sites correctly and securely, utilizing remote monitoring and data analysis to verify and validate execution. These efforts will be primarily in leading and managing new projects, platform redesigns, and miscellaneous customer engagements.

The Lead Platform Engineer will work directly with internal support teams, Sales Engineers, and Customers. They will also manage a broadly disciplined team in the overall support of IIoT deployment and platform architectures.

What you will do:
  • Lead architecture solutions and designs in the IIoT space, with focus on the long-term security of end-to-end solutions.
  • Support data communications and customer integrations for all solutions and architecture, through product life cycle and technology migrations.
  • Engage in activities around cloud IaaS/PaaS infrastructure, wireless devices, network data communications...including 3D TRASAR Controllers, PLC solutions, and various IIoT solutions.
  • Perform 'hands-on' network/cybersecurity/wireless assessment, design, and implementation of complex process automation.
  • Provide strong leadership in a dynamic, uncertain and challenging environment, and work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Creativity in problem solving with a positive 'can do' approach and high levels of self-motivation and drive.
  • Monitor, review, report, and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Experience managing the successful delivery for multiple simultaneous complex technology solutions.
  • Write detailed documentation that includes the user needs, acceptable architectures, approved security methods, 'registering' information, common observed issues with remediation recommendations, or implementation requirements to integrate within a customer's network and/or control system infrastructure.
  • Provide technical customer support specific to communications and security solutions. Participate on customer conference calls to articulate capabilities, solutions, and security best practices.
  • Ensure solutions are standard, scalable, and leverageable across a diverse customer/industry landscape, as well as globally and via a diverse workforce.
  • Accurately articulate the requirements and priorities of various teams from Enterprise Security, Information Technology (IT), Marketing/Sales teams, and customers.
  • Present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization to communicate best practices, risks, architectures, and proposed directions.
  • Work across the business to drive a continuous improvement culture with respect to deployment performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and supportability.
  • Experience in multiple aspects of project delivery, such as business case development, solution definition, project implementation, team building and management, managing third party vendors.
  • Lead other team members in the global support and management of the IoT infrastructure and equipment deployments.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technology-driven degree.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Solution Architecture & Design, IT Architecture/Infrastructure, the IIoT Industry, and/or Network Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience integrating cybersecurity into designs and architectures.
  • 5+ years leading and driving projects to successful completion.
  • 2+ years of cloud architectures utilizing IaaS and PaaS solutions.
  • Experience working as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team completing full project life-cycle implementations.
  • Experience working with TCP networking (DNS/Routing/Firewalls/NAT/Gateways/etc...).
  • Experience working with networking protocols (NTP/HTTP/HTTPS/AMQPS/FTP/SFTP/TFTP/SSH/TELNET).
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal communications, organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Azure or equivalent cloud experience/skills.
  • Experience with the setup and testing of various IIoT hardware (Gateways, end nodes, controllers, etc...).
  • Experience working with cellular networks and IIoT networks.
  • C# backend development skills.
  • Experience working with the Agile Scrum process.
