Retail POS/ Linux Engineer
Location: Providence, RI - Hybrid
Duration: 12 month contract
Qualifications:
-
8+ years total experience in engineering or infrastructure based role
- Expertise with 3+ years in retail infrastructure experience with large-scale retailers (Walgreens, Target, Walmart, Staples, Kroger, TJX, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, BJ Warehouse's, RiteAid, etc)
- Exposure to typical brick-and-mortar retail hardware: POS registers, printers, barcode scanners, web cams, digital displays, Android-based devices, etc.
- Strong hands-on experience working in Linux environments
- General networking knowledge-understanding how devices connect and interact
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio (flowcharts, architecture diagrams, process maps)
- Familiarity with software development practices (this role does not involve coding but requires interaction with development teams)
- Experience with Docker containers and Apache
- Database experience with MariaDB or MySQL
