Linux Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a dedicated and experienced Linux Administrator to join our infrastructure team in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about delivering reliable systems support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems administration, particularly with CentOS, and a proactive, communicative approach to teamwork.

Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, with a focus on CentOS environments
* Redeploy applications from Jenkins to alternate servers and collaborate with team members to validate successful deployments
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
* Participate in infrastructure planning and implementation of best practices
* Maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures
* Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely updates

REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator
* Proven experience with CentOS in production environments
* Strong understanding of Jenkins pipelines and application deployment workflows
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently when needed
* Excellent communication skills-responsive, respectful, and reliable
* Strong sense of accountability and commitment to delivering quality work on time

Preferred Attributes:
* Experience in infrastructure at a senior level
* Familiarity with configuration management tools and scripting languages
* A caring and team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
