Systems Engineer - Olathe, KS
Description:
  • Own and drive the development and functional integration of the digital controlled power converters.
  • Be responsible for safety-critical complex power architecture and driving system requirements integration, from design through validation.
  • Design and integrate aerospace power converters, starting from system architecture and carrying responsibilities through to system validation.
  • Lead cross-functionally and have the ability to drive team consensus on technical decisions that best serve the end goal.
  • Own and drive the development of power converters and its test system design.
  • Decompose system design requirements into engineering requirements and specifications to meet system quality and readiness standards.
  • Maintain traceability of engineering requirements and functions.
  • Develop and review system verification and validation plans.
  • Identify system failure modes and effects; partner with systems architects to determine mitigation strategies to comply with functional safety guidelines.
  • Present designs and validation results to a group of diverse set of engineers, including EEs, MEs, SWEs, and others.

Education:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering.

Experience:
  • Three plus years industry experience in implementing complex and safety-critical systems.

Must Have's:
  • Experience in utilizing a variety of electronics test and analysis equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital and analog meters, signal generator, spectrum analyzers and network analysis instruments.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting breadboard and prototype assemblies.
  • Working experience with internal personnel and customers to identify the root cause of a failure in the system.
  • High sense of urgency
  • Experience conducting internal failure analysis (electrical/performance issues) and follow-up/coordinate with outside labs and other resources as required.
