Job Summary: Senior IT Application Administrators are responsible for ensuring that our business applications function well and are highly available. Job duties of an IT Application Administrator include preparing servers, installing and configuring software, loading data, doing maintenance work, accommodating required changes, minimizing downtime, and supporting business users.

Job Summary: Senior IT Application Administrators are responsible for ensuring that our business applications function well and are highly available. Job duties of an IT Application Administrator include preparing servers, installing and configuring software, loading data, doing maintenance work, accommodating required changes, minimizing downtime, and supporting business users.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in the field of Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience providing end-to-end IT Business Application support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Experience working with technical aspects of Microsoft operating systems, Windows and Windows Server in relation to IT Application support;
- Database administration, particularly MS SQL and experience working with MS SQL Server reporting and integration tools like SSIS, SSRS;
- Managing small to mid-sized upgrade/deployment projects;
- Experience working with Integrations between on-site systems and cloud systems;
- Middleware support like Tomcat.
Essential Duties:
- Provide application maintenance and support to proactively minimize service disruption and facilitate operational efficiency of applications including software, server environment, database(s), and integrations both onsite and in cloud. Utilize IT Best Practices and IT tools related to application support, implementation, and documentation. Lead troubleshooting efforts when issues arise.
- Investigate complex problems and data discrepancies and diagnose root causes. Monitor, evaluate, and report on overall system performance. Identify problematic trends, and work on resolving them.
- Ensure tickets are being responded to in accordance with the prescribed service levels set by management. Work with external vendor trouble ticket systems.
- Plan the timing of and coordinate upgrades, patches, enhancements, and migration to new systems.
- Implement new business applications including testing and integrations. Plan and develop use-case test plans and perform unit testing. Design, build, test, implement and maintain integrations between the specific applications and other internal and external applications.
- Document technical specifications, run books and other requirements to support specific applications. Document and analyze release levels and associated compatibility with currently deployed systems and standards including testing components and systems to see how they integrate with existing systems and applications and if they perform to standards. Identify, evaluate, and document risks. Identify and deploy Continuous Improvement opportunities. Provide assessment analysis of supported applications.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to IT Application Administrators on processes, procedures, and Generac policies
Other Duties as assigned and the following:
- Establish partnerships with the business departments and staff to gain solid understanding of the business process, workflows, and data requirements for specific applications. Establish working partnerships with vendors and other Generac IT staff.
- Participate in the testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Windows server applications.
