We are currently looking for a User Research Operations Engineer to join the Human Engineering team. You will manage the data collection process for multiple investigations in parallel. You will possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills, great attention to detail, and a commitment to conducting high quality research.

Able to quickly engage and connect with participants to provide a great study experience Able to stand up, scale and coordinate technical bench and user studiesAble to thrive in cross functional, fast-paced technical environment under ambiguous circumstancesHigh attention to detail, resourceful, passionate, creative and results orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFamiliar with research fundamentals (design of experiment, user research, statistics, data visualization)Familiar with engineering fundamentals across multiple disciplines (Hardware, Software, Algorithms, Human Factors, Data Infrastructure)Comfortable setting-up, operating and troubleshooting consumer electronics and technical data collection systems (e.g. motion capture, eye tracking, RF analysis systems, heart rate monitors, etc.) Proficient in in data management tools and technologies, such as SQL, Excel, Python, etc.

Description

Bring up, pilot and troubleshoot study protocols and data collection systems.Coordinate, document and gather appropriate study approvals.Train and oversee study facilitators on data collection procedures.Review and assess study data for quality and integrity.Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g. engineering, design, project management, legal, security, etc.) to define study requirements, protocol designs and data flows.Effectively communicate project status updates with cross-functional teams and partners.Write technical documents including study instructions, operating procedures and training documents for study facilitators.Track ongoing study requests and data needs to inform resourcing, timelines, and priorities.Anticipate and develop risk mitigation strategies for potential scenarios that can jeopardize data quality and study timelines.Creatively identify and refine study protocols, processes and procedures to improve participant experience, data quality and operational efficiency.Manage multiple user research studies concurrently in a multifaceted, changing environment.Contribute to the design of user study data collection systems including hardware, firmware, software and user interface specifications.Facilitate user study sessions as needed, ensuring a great participant experience and high quality data collection.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in engineering, data science, other research related discipline or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 2+ years of hands on experience planning, coordinating and executing, human subjects required. Individuals with greater experience may take on additional responsibilities.
