Research Support Engineer
The Opportunity:

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to test and evaluate ML infrastructure and algorithms makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support the government mission.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:
  • Experience with supporting and debugging Al applications used by internal applied researchers to improve their software workflows for production
  • Experience with system administration and deploying Machine Learning (ML) or High Performance Computing (HPC) workloads in production
  • Experience with developing validation plans, benchmarks, and test scripts to evaluate stability, performance, and power consumption of hardware systems such as GPU-based HPCs and AI applications
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation (T&E) for deep learning software stacks, with a particular emphasis on pre-training and inference of generative workloads
  • Ability to deploy test plans to profile, optimize, and scale test-time compute to maximize systems for latency, throughput, and efficiency performance across a range of Machine Learning (ML) workloads
  • Ability to utilize Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, and Tensorflow
  • Ability to implement GPU programming and distributed and parallel computing algorithms
  • Ability to interact with internal researchers to help specify benchmarking plans and validation test scripts, and prototype and analyze emergent techniques in algorithmic and hardware system optimizations
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, or Applied Mathematics

    Nice If You Have:
    • Experience with profiling a diversity of hardware systems, such as GPUs, FPGAs, or ASICS, for maximizing latency, throughput, and efficiency
    • Knowledge of specific Integrated Circuits (ASICS)
    • Knowledge of ML Frameworks and compiler tooling for AI/ML application testing

    Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
