Amick Brown is seeking an experienced Environmental Management System Engineer for our direct client.

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA

Duration: 7 Months

Estimated pay range: $27.2 - $34 hour per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location.

Job description

  • To understand the strategic and execute the tactical with direction, from the ISO 14001 Lead and when necessary, the Corporate EMS Manager, on performing the operational aspects of ISO 14001.
  • Ensuring that requirements provided within the Environmental Management System (ISO14001 framework) are properly integrated and that the necessary documentation to show evidence of compliance is created and maintained for the Peachtree Corners Campus.

  • The EMS Specialist is responsible for ensuring execution of activities associated with our Clients EMS (certified or obtaining certification acc. to ISO 14001).
  • The EMS Specialist will identify and coordinate all relevant site activities around our Clients environmental impact including, but not limited to site s relevant environmental aspects, significant impacts, compliance obligations and objectives/ targets.
  • Execute process as described in procedure to create and maintain EMS/ISO14001 records.
  • Ensure EMS procedures are followed, and appropriate evidence/record is established.
  • Maintaining a library of EMS Records (e.g. Compliance Obligations, Aspects and impacts, Management of Change) and information necessary for our Clients local functions and circulation of such information as required. Partnering with process owners to ensure assessment, identification of, and adherence to requirements and process.
  • The EMS Specialist may support and/or coordinate internal and external audits and will report relevant information on periodic basis to the Corporate EMS Manager.
  • Participate in the investigation, coordination, and oversight of environmental incidents, near-miss incidents, non-conformance and Site-EDF/ CAPA.
  • He/She works closely with the local process owners and business partners to ensure process excellence by the site and, additionally, assessing, documenting, and addressing all relevant changes with impact to environment or the EMS.
  • Coordinating with our Clients process owners, when required, on procedures regarding environmental issues as set out in the local environmental regulations and standards.
  • Ensuring regular environmental checks are performed.

Required Skills and Experience (Specific skills, knowledge, and experience that an individual must possess in order to successfully perform in job)

  • 2-5 years management system experience, ideally with Environmental Management Systems in the medical device industry, Quality Management Systems
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and/or other management systems, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion within a broadly defined range of policies and practices. This includes analytical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, including action oriented, focused urgency and driving for results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with others in team environment; effective interactions in cross department teams; strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Project management skills (e.g. administrative, WBS and record keeping)
  • Ability to be effective in complex projects with ambiguity and/or rapid change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize and schedule work to meet business needs.
  • Computer literacy (PC, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with Agile PLM a plus
  • Detail orientated, with emphasis on accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficient in English and the site s local language(s)

Required Education and Training (As applicable - Specific education and training that an individual must possess in order to successfully perform in job)

  • College or University degree in science or engineering preferred; or equivalent training/experience which may include exposure to the implementation or maintenance of Environmental Management System or other Management Systems
  • Working Conditions (As applicable - Any physical requirements for the job. If not applicable, state none )
  • Preferred Skills and Experience (As applicable - Specific skills, knowledge, and experience that are not required to perform the job, but are desirable to have)
  • An ability to travel up to 10%, dependent on the ISO 14001 alignment with other sites
  • ISO14001 Lead Auditor certification.
