Job Title: Digital Twin Solution Architect

Location: Remote + Travel

About the Role

We re seeking a visionary Digital Twin Solution Architect to lead the design, integration, and scalability of our real-time, city-scale digital twin platform. You ll operate at the intersection of urban systems, AI, geospatial data, and immersive technology guiding the architecture of a platform that unifies IoT sensors, simulation engines, and 3D visualizations into a living, actionable digital representation of the city.

As the chief technical advocate for internal teams and external stakeholders, you ll architect full-stack solutions, support prototyping, and drive engagement with city officials, technology partners, and engineers alike. This is a pivotal role in ensuring our platform is secure, interoperable, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Evangelist: Act as the lead advocate and strategist for the city-scale digital twin architecture, aligning smart city needs with cloud, AI/ML, and geospatial technologies.
  • Platform Architecting: Design and guide system integration across GIS, IoT, BIM, simulation engines, and 3D platforms such as CesiumJS, Unreal, or Omniverse.
  • Prototype and Pilot Leadership: Co-develop proof-of-concepts with product teams, 3D developers, and simulation engineers using NVIDIA SDKs (e.g., Riva, Triton, NeMo), Cesium, and open city data.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Educate government stakeholders and civic partners on the platform s capabilities, ensuring alignment with policy, data governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • System Performance & Security: Ensure architecture meets city-wide security, scalability, and interoperability standards (dynamic, technical, and organizational).
  • Feedback Loop Champion: Collect and synthesize field insights to inform internal platform and tool development.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with simulation developers, immersive experience designers, cybersecurity leads, and smart city consultants to deliver cohesive solutions.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Urban Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years in solution architecture, systems engineering, or platform integration, ideally within smart cities, urban infrastructure, or IoT-based environments.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA s accelerated compute stack (NeMo, RAPIDS, Triton, Riva), and experience integrating them into real-world applications.
  • Experience with cloud-native microservices, real-time data ingestion pipelines, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, MQTT, ROS2).
  • Hands-on experience with geospatial systems (GIS, BIM, Digital Twins), 3D engines (CesiumJS, Unreal, Unity), and data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of smart city interoperability frameworks (FIWARE, NGSI-LD, OGC) and public sector IT constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with city planners, CIOs, and technical teams.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices and data privacy in distributed sensor systems is a strong plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • A robust, scalable architecture powering the city s digital twin and supporting real-time situational awareness.
  • Seamless data interoperability across diverse IoT and infrastructure systems.
  • Platform adoption by multiple city departments, with demonstrable improvements to service delivery and emergency response.
  • Cross-team collaboration is smooth, with reusable architecture patterns and effective feedback loops.
