Microsoft Advertising Campaign UI team is the development team responsible for the front end web sites used by online advertisers to create and manage their millions of ad campaigns. This team has committed focus on customer satisfaction. We are on an ambitious journey to build new generation of Microsoft Ads UI and analytical platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Microsoft Ads, you will develop world class Web UI experience for our demand management platform as well as enable new Ads Product to advertisers. Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non-U.S., country-specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with PMs, UX designers and partner teams to design and develop features from concept to release and live operations.
  • Quality and result driven in project execution.
  • Build metrics and monitor impact of features.
  • Be open and willing to learn new technology and to take challenges.
  • Help team to forge a sound engineering culture with growth mindset.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with system design, problem solving, and debugging.
  • 2+ years of experience building user-facing applications at scale, including modern web technologies (e.g., ReactJS, Angular, or similar).
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Versatility across the stack: ability to work on front-end, back-end services, APIs, and data layers as needed.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating services in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform), with familiarity in CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision making, with the ability to build metrics, analyze performance, and connect technical outcomes to business impact.
  • Committed collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of mentoring others and influencing technical direction across teams.
  • Dependable coding experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML and/or Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Experience with ReactJS and modern front end development environment is highly desirable.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
