We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior CPQ Solution Architect to lead our Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) initiatives across the enterprise. This is a senior-level role requiring not only deep technical expertise in CPQ systems but also outstanding communication, Solutioning, business acumen, and leadership abilities. Ability to own, lead, manage the practice area. You will serve as the strategic point person for CPQ solutioning-owning architecture, implementation, governance, and stakeholder alignment across business and IT. This is a problem solving role and not necessarily in the hand on coding. The person has to be comfortable with leading and communicating to the masses.
This is long term role. Possibility 18 months.
NOTE: This role will work closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners to deliver scalable solutions that improve quoting, pricing, and sales processes. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading large Oracle CPQ implementations, managing cross-functional teams, and communicating effectively at both executive and technical levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive CPQ Strategy: Lead the overall CPQ roadmap, architecture, and delivery strategy across the organization.
- Executive Collaboration: Act as the key liaison between technical teams and executive leadership-translating complex technical concepts into business terms and vice versa.
- Business Engagement: Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and Operations to deeply understand pricing models, product configurations, approval workflows, and quoting needs.
- Solution Architecture: Design scalable and flexible CPQ solutions aligned with business objectives and future-state architecture.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of developers, admins, and analysts; oversee offshore/nearshore resources as needed.
- Vendor Management: Engage with software vendors (e.g., Oracle CPQ) to assess capabilities and manage implementation/integration activities.
- Governance & Best Practices: Establish CPQ solution design standards, configuration guidelines, and deployment methodologies.
- Change Management: Ensure successful adoption through training, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional experience in IT or business systems, with at least 5 years in a CPQ architect or lead solutioning role.
- Proven leadership in enterprise-level CPQ implementations (e.g., Oracle CPQ, or similar).
- Deep understanding of product configuration, pricing logic, discounting, approvals, and quote-to-cash processes.
- Strong experience integrating CPQ with CRM, ERP, Billing, and other enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical business stakeholders and C-level executives.
- Track record of leading and scaling cross-functional teams, both technical and business-facing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Oracle CPQ highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Experience in high-growth environments or transformational enterprise projects.
